June 2008 Student Conference Retreat

June 2-7 2008

About the Conference

The Midwives College of Utah invites you to the MCU Summer Conference Retreat held June 2-7 2008. You enjoy the many benefits of onsite learning and have the opportunity to meet other MCU students.

Although there will be some pre and post-class work, many of your assignments are done onsite helping you finish your coursework, expand your skills and enjoy the camaraderie of your fellow students and midwifery instructors. It is also a good time to schedule one-on-one time with instructors or to check-in with your coach.

Along with MCU students, we welcome fellow midwives, aspiring midwives, doulas, childbirth educators and anyone else seeking continuing education.  If you wish to receive credit for this course, you may enroll as a continuing education student through MCU.  You will be required to pay the conference fee and the credit tuition.  If you wish to attend for no credit, you will pay only the conference fee.

MCU students please note that the course price is included in your monthly payment plan.  Conference fees will be required in addition to your monthly payment.

 Conference Location

The Conference will be held in the same building as MCU at:

The Myotherapy College of Massage
1174 East 2700 South
Salt Lake City, Utah

A limited number of lodging spaces are available for out-of-town students. A complementary shuttle will transport students from the Salt Lake City airport to the conference site.

Midwives Muse

The word muse is a verb meaning to think about something in a deep and serious or dreamy and abstracted way.  Through a variety of exercises, we will pause throughout the conference to reconnect with and renew the spirit. We agree with Audre Lorde who said, "For each of us as women, there is a deep place within, where hidden and growing our true spirit rises. . . .  Within these deep places, each one holds an incredible reserve of creativity and power. . . ."
