Sarah CarterSarah Carter is both a faculty member at MCU, instructing our English classes, and a graduate student in midwifery. She received her baccalaureate degree from Brigham Young University in 1999 in English and worked as a copy editor for three years. She is also a certified birth doula through DONA and a certified childbirth mentor through Birthing From Within. She is married to a wonderful man named John and together they have three children. One child was birthed in a hospital into the hands of a certified nurse-midwife, one was birthed in a hospital into the hands of a wonderful nurse, and one was birthed at home into the hands of MCU’s Academic Dean and her dear friend, Suzanne Smith, CPM. Their daughters are Hailey (age 6) and Victoria (age 4) and their son is Alexander (age 2). She is an ENFP (Meyers-Briggs indicator) and she lives to inspire! -"I love to help our midwifery students discover within themselves the wonderful talents and gifts that will help them communicate with the world." In addition to instructing MCU’s formal English classes, she is also available as a resource to help students with their writing for other classes during their journey at MCU. She is happy to help with writing any time and as an instructor, nothing makes her more proud than receiving a notice from a student or former student that they have had an article published. She doesn’t have much "off-time" between working on her own degree, teaching at MCU and, of course, mothering.
