Felicia Marki-ZayI was born in Hungary in 1972. I grew up in a small town where I got married with my high school sweetheart in 1994. I had 5 children in a hospital in 1996, 1997, 1999, 2000, and 2003. In 2004 we moved to Ontario, Canada. When I got pregnant with my 6th child a friend advised me to find an independent midwife as a primary care provider. This completely different experience during my pregnancy, birth, and postpartum period led me to become a midwife. I started my studies at MCU in 2004. We moved to Indiana, USA where I was able to fulfill the clinical requirements. I got my Master’s degree in 2009. I had my 7th child shortly after I graduated. He was born at home in water in the presence of my husband and children, a doula and a lovely midwife, who was one of my preceptors during my studies. Five weeks later we moved back to Hungary. My purpose is to help establish independent midwifery in Hungary and support those families who want to experience a different way of giving birth than the only available option of traditional hospital birth. It is my great pleasure that I can be an instructor at MCU and help students reach their goals. 1174 E 2700 S STE 2 SLC, UT 84106-2671 1-866-680-2756 1-801-649-5230 Fax: 1-866-207-2024 office@midwifery.edu |
