Karen Hertel

Karen Hertel and her husband Greg currently reside in Flathead Lake, Montana, where they manage a ranch since February of this year. They are glad to have the opportunity to enjoy many of their interests including farming organic foods, working with the animals and wathcing their two young daughters thrive in a small ranching community.

Prior to their move to the ranch, Karen put her master's degree in Library & Information Science to use at the University of Idaho in Moscow. She worked as a reference librarian and headed the government documents department. Three of Karen’s four children were born with the help of a doula. For one of her births, she was fortunate to live in an area with the choice of a midwife and a birth center.
