Monday – Evening Hot Chocolate
Welcome to Conference! This is likely something that will be happening every night, but Monday night is official! If you’re staying at the Conference Center be sure (after you’ve had some dinner and hopefully finished unpacking) to put on your PJ’s, come on out to the common area upstairs, and come together for conversation and hot chocolate. We’ll see you at 9pm.
Tuesday – Dinner @ The Blue Lemon
An annual tradition! After conference workshops end for the day put your notes away, grab a jacket, and meet at the parking lot entrance at 6:30pm. We will walk across the street to one of our favorite restaurants in Salt Lake City – The Blue Lemon! It truly offers something for everyone, in a fun environment, and at a reasonable price.
Wednesday – Ethics Presentation w/ Dr. Courtney Everson
Please plan to join us for Ethics in Midwifery Care: Understanding the Good, the Bad, & the Ugly. We are thrilled to have the rare opportunity of having Dr. Everson presenting. She will be introducing the conceptual, practical, and critical thinking tools and skills necessary to uphold the core values of the midwifery profession. (See the conference descriptions for more details.) If you plan to attend this event, please RSVP here.
Thursday – Opportunity to Visit Downtown SLC
Time to decompress and have a little fun. Grab a friend (or three) and head out (on foot – no car needed) into downtown Salt Lake City. There are beautiful, historic sights, great shopping, and plenty of options for dinner – and dessert! Feel free to ask any of the MCU Conference staff for ideas and suggestions.
Friday – Evening Hike and Closing
Our week together is wrapping up, but your trip wouldn’t be complete without experiencing a little of the amazing natural scenery that surrounds the Salt Lake Valley. Another popular annual tradition at conference! Lace up your tennis shoes and meet up at the Conference Center at 7pm for a beautiful evening hike. We will take a few moments to reflect on the week and then just enjoy good conversations with friends and peers.
Saturday – Who’s around?
We don’t have anything set for Saturday night as most everyone is flying out, but if you are local or staying around until Sunday, then Saturday night is the night to get together and order a pizza, walk to the mall for dinner, or pick up food at Harmon’s around the corner. Enjoy your last evening in Salt Lake City, and if you’re looking for other suggestions — just ask!
