Penalties for Drug Law Violations

A federal or state drug conviction can disqualify a student from Federal Student Aid funds if the conviction was for an offense that occurred during a period of enrollment for which the student was receiving Title IV aid. Length of ineligibility varies based upon whether the conviction was for a first or subsequent offense. If eligibility is lost, you will be notified as to the steps you can take to reestablish eligibility. For more information, please refer to the latest edition of Federal Student Aid Handbook.
