MCU celebrates National Coming Out Day on Tuesday, October 11th! First celebrated in October 1987 to commemorate the march on Washington for LGBTQIA+ rights, today, national coming out day provides safe spaces and visibility to LGBTQIA+ people while bringing awareness to issues that face this community, especially issues facing LGBTQIA+ youth who tend to have higher rates of depression, suicide, and homelessness (regardless of their racial identities/socioeconomic status). Today, let’s celebrate and uplift queer voices that continue to show us what it means to be “out and proud”!!

Best,
