Join us in commemorating Juneteenth and honoring the invaluable contributions of black midwives to perinatal care in the United States! Throughout history, Black midwives have been the backbone of compassionate and holistic care for expectant mothers and their newborns. We recognize and pay homage to the resilience, strength, and expertise of black midwives who have played an instrumental role in shaping maternal and infant health in our country.

For centuries, Black midwives have supported expectant mothers and families, providing compassionate care and empowering communities. Their wisdom, knowledge, and ancestral practices have shaped the birthing experiences of countless individuals, fostering holistic care and cultural understanding.

Today, we honor the countless Black midwives who have paved the way for the advancement of perinatal care, fighting against systemic barriers and racial disparities. Their tireless efforts have significantly contributed to improving birth outcomes, reducing maternal and infant mortality rates, and promoting overall well-being in communities.

As a college dedicated to educating the next generation of midwives, we stand in solidarity with our black colleagues and recognize the urgent need for equitable access to quality perinatal care for all. Together, we can work towards dismantling healthcare disparities and promoting a more inclusive, culturally responsive approach to childbirth.

Educate, empower, and inspire the midwives of tomorrow to honor the legacy of those who came before us. Join us in celebrating the courage, resilience, and expertise of Black midwives today and every day!
